I was using my PC when it suddenly powered off without warning. When I try to boot it again, its stuck in a power cycle loop and wont even get to bios screen
Heres a video of the problem
What Ive tried…
Removed each ram stick, aswell as GPU, checking for any change after each step
Reseated all of the above
Removed CMOS battery for a few minutes
Gave it a good vacuum incase some dust was shorting it
Does the video give any indication what might be wrong? I suspect either the CPU or motherboard is toast, any advice appreciated thanks
Well my first thoughts watching that are PSU, CPU or Mainboard. I assume thats not a glitch of the video and the POST CODE tool is just flashing on and off. So it does not even look like its progressing past CPU INIT. So either CPU or MB could be at fault here. Or PSU has issue and is not providing correct power to the board.
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes the POST code is just flashing and never progressing beyond 00.
Its also very irregular, and sometimes reboots 3 times in the space of a second - something which the video didnt capture, other times its about once per second
I think Ill start with replacing the PSU and see if that helps.
Do you have access to Novatech order system? I bought a pre-built system and whilst I knew the spec at the time, I can find no record of it now, or what spec PSU it uses
