Hi -
It’s finally time to upgrade the bios of my trusted W25CSW running Windows 10.
It’s few years old, I’ve already upgraded the SSD and RAM, and it’s still going strong.
Currently running (from BIOS info panel):
ME FW Version 9.0.22.1467
MB Series W25CSW
BIOS Version 1.03.05RNO02
KBC/EC Firmware Revision 1.03.04
Reading the following post it seems the latest version is 1.05.01:
I downloaded the 1.6GB zip file Windows 10 Drivers (1.05.01) from the “Laptop Drivers / Manuals” page, but I cannot seem to find bios upgrade instructions.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time.
Roy.
We can provide this BIOS update to you, but to be clear, it is nothing more than a tidy up BIOS that Clevo produced at the launch of Windows 10. As units that supported Windows 10 used a 1.05.xx BIOS label scheme. The BIOS itself is simply a build of the last version of the 1.03.xx label scheme updated to a new version number. The BIOS itself provides no functionality changes between what you have now which is the lastest 1.03.xx path so updating is not going to offer any benefits, but if you wish to do it then i can send it over.
My W25CSW is currently running Windows 10 ver 10.0.16299 (released 2017), which was adequate for my needs until a few months ago when support for Office 365 was discontinued, so I am now forced to upgrade to Windows 10 ver 22H2, which fails repeatedly.
Upgrading the BIOS to 1.05.xx was meant to eliminate one possible reason for this Windows upgrade failure. But if 1.05.xx provides no functionality changes, then perhaps there’s no point.
Do you know if the W25CSW with BIOS 1.03.xx is capable of running Windows 10 ver. 22H2? If so, then the BIOS is not the reason for the failed Windows upgrade and I shall look elsewhere.
The BIOS in question as i said was a release BIOS to tidy up clevo version numbering and came out for the release of Windows 10 in 2015 and has never had any further update since. As 22H2 came out 7 years after this BIOS was released and Windows 10 has worked all that time, the BIOS i feel is unreleated here otherwise you would have been having issue with prevoius Windows 10 releases. This is more likely a Windows 10 22H2 change causing the issue. What exactly is happening when you do the upgrade??
Hey Coops. Happy to report problem has been solved (and unrelated to the BIOS). Windows 10 has now been updated. Thanks for your help and apologies for taking your time. R
